8th June 2019 Barbon Hillclimb results
Unfortunately we don’t have a report for the event as our usual compiler was not able to attend this time.
It was a very wet day as the tail end of Storm Miguel made its presence known but 74 competritors still braved the conditions to take part in the event. . Due to the conditions no new class records were set.
It rained, then it drizzled and when it had finished drizzling, it rained again. And of course, it eventually cleared up just in time for the last few runs. Typical!!!.
Thanks must go to everyone who braved the conditions and turned up to compete and above all, tremendous thanks to the often unsung heroes of motorsport, our volunteer marshals who stood out there all day to keep an eye on everyone.
Those of you who came to watch will be aware that we didn’t charge you to come in. We decided it wouldn’t be fair to charge spectators to trample through the wet grass and possibly mud, so please accept the free admission as our thank-you for turning up.
Now we need you all to come back next month when the British Hillclimb Championship joins us at Barbon…. the entry list is fully booked so it’s going to be a great day’s motorsport – all we need is for the weather to look after us too!
See you on 6th July

In spite of some very challenging weather conditions the organisers and marshals did a fantastic job and ran a great event enjoyed by all that attended. The new drainage system and roadway allowed access to and from the paddock even for low clearance racing cars, this was a great improvement appreciated by all. The event ran without a hitch and everyone was full of praise for a job well done.
Top marks to everyone concerned.
