What was the thinking behind the split at the 320 foot mark at Aintree on Saturday?
Just curious.

Our timekeeper says:
As a distance it has no significance at all. It came about because there has been some discussion, mainly among the BSC runners, that the 64ft time is irrelevant
for sprints and a longer distance would be more useful. As it was a dry day and I had spare beams and cable I thought I would try it and see what happens. Its something that can only really happen at Aintree because of the length of the start straight.
