Doug Gorge RIP
By Chairman •
June 29th, 2022
We regret to report that respected LMC member and competitor Doug (Douggie) Gorge sadly lost his fight with cancer and passed away on Monday this week.
In recent times Doug was well known to many of his fellow sprint and hillclimb competitors as the very competent driver of a blue Renault Clio that he shared with his son Paul, for a time holding the SC Class record at Aintree – until Paul snatched it from him.
Doug’s funeral was held on 7th July with well over 100 of his family, friends and acquaintances in attendance to give him a good send-off.
On behalf of all those in motorsport who knew Doug, we extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends. We shall miss him greatly.
John Harden, LMC Chairman
Doug Gorge, three-wheeling around Country Corner at Aintree, as usual
