Jim Bebby 1935 – 2015

It is with great sadness that we announce that LMC Vice-President Jim Bebby passed away peacefully in his sleep on 26th July aged 80 years, after a thankfully short battle with cancer.

Jim’s jovial personality will be remembered by many hundreds of competitors over the years as he enthusiastically welcomed them to events at Aintree in his role as Secretary of the Meeting.

Jim joined Liverpool Motor Club way back in 1977, initially as a marshal but quite soon becoming involved as a very willing member of the service team supporting Club members on rallies in the UK and abroad. In the days when LMC’s main activity was promoting rallies, Jim became a pivotal member of the organising team on the Mayfield Safari Rallies and the Jeans Gold Cup events. He also took on the role of Club Treasurer, a role that he would maintain in typically impeccable manner for well over 30 years.

He will be greatly missed by all his many friends at Liverpool Motor Club and in the wider motorsport world.

Jim’s funeral service took place Tuesday 4th August at Anfield Crematorium, Liverpool and was attended by over 100 family and friends.
The family requested no flowers.
Instead any donations received will be divided between their two nominated cancer charities and may be sent to:
Barrington’s Funeral Service, 28 Crosby Road North, Waterloo, Liverpool L22 4QF

And we’ve got two highly competitive Speed Hillclimbs that you could take part in at spectacular Barbon Manor in Cumbria on 13th June & 4th July.

Entries are now open for all the above events, just click the relative tab above for more information.

 How about driving the full Aintree Club Circuit on one of our Track Days on 30th May & 3rd October? You’ll get to experience the challenging Club Corner at speed as well.
Run to the same standards as our sprints, there are dedicated sessions available for single seater drivers too. Advice available all day from our ARDS instructors – at no extra cost. Bookings for May will open by 30th April, but be quick – the event will fill up within hours!

 You’ll be in good company at any of our events as several of our regular Sprinters regularly take part in our Aintree track days & our Barbon hillclimbs. People just keep coming back for more!!!
