Loads of space still available for the Aintree Sprint, 4th September.
We have received fewer than 70 entries for the final Aintree sprint of 2011, so there’s plenty of space available.

The 3rd Cholmondeley Pageant of Power (CPOP) 17th & 18th July 2010
Taking place in the glorious grounds of Cholmondeley Castle the 2010 Pageant combines speed, nerve and flair with exceptional design and engineering. Since 2007 it has been the ambition of the Pageant of Power to showcase the best of historic and contemporary automotive power, whether on Land, Sea or Air.
Central to the action is the 3 mile circuit within the Park grounds of Cholmondeley Castle where over 150 cars and bikes compete, spanning seven decades of motorsports.
Within the Concours d’Elegence a tribute to the late Tom Wheatcroft will feature some of his finest cars out of the Donington Collection, including the Vanwalls and Thinwalls.
On the adjoining Deer Park Mere, the Pageant hosts the largest gathering of inshore racing power boats in the UK, World Champion Jet Ski Demonstrations and Rib rides are also on offer!
In the air the Largest Helicopter Fly-in in Europe combines with dramatic and gravity defying aerobatic displays.
The Military might on display this year will be more impressive than ever before with opportunities to watch combat power in action, look inside battle winning equipment and train with serving soldiers during the days and listen to magnificent marching bands at the Tattoo on Saturday night.
All this combined with the fantastic shopping, activities and refreshments make this the unmissable event of the year!
LMC has a stand at this years Pageant. We shall have at least a dozen cars on show, plus our “famous” display of Club historyu and activities. If you are going to the show, come and say hello. We will be just by the footbridge that crosses the Circuit from the Club Stands area.
See the CPOP website for more information about this great event. The Goodwood of the North?
Sign the MSA’s petition
Would you like to see more motorsport on the public highway? Over 4500 people have already signed a petition supporting the implementation of a mechanism to allow such events to take place. The MSA urges all motor sport fans to indicate the strength of support for this initiative to the government by signing the petition:-
The UK is losing out both in sporting and economic terms as a direct result of the law that requires an Act of Parliament to suspend the Road Traffic Act on a stretch of the public highway. Throughout Europe (and also in Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man), ‘closed road’ events bring great benefit to the local communities in terms of tourism, economic prosperity and sporting kudos.
The UK government should provide a mechanism to deliver a Temporary Suspension Order (in association with local authorities) that would enable a limited annual number of ‘closed road’ events to take place in England, Wales and Scotland, with the associated benefits for the regions selected.
The Motor Sports Association is currently undertaking an economic impact assessment to support this proposal. Previous studies undertaken on behalf of the Jim Clark Rally, put the figure for that one event in excess of £3m – this leads the MSA to estimate that closed road rallying for a limited number of approximately 20 events a year, could deliver substantial benefit to local areas, particularly in the low season, of between £20m and £60m a year.
Please sign the petition today at http://petition.co.uk/msa. It closes soon!
