IMPORTANT NOTICE

Please Note: To ensure that your booking is received as quickly as our postal service will allow, please ensure that you have the correct postage on your envelope as any envelope bigger than a C5 size envelope (162mm x229mm and over 5mm thick), is classed as large item and requires additional postage. If you underpay your postage fee, the Royal Mail will charge us for the extra postage due plus a £1.00 handling fee and will require us to collect it from the sorting office. This will seriously delay your mail and could result in your booking being returned if the event or your preferred group is full. Don’t be disappointed, ensure that use the correct postage!

Please do not send your booking by any method which requires a signature upon delivery as it will probably result in your booking form being delayed.

Bookings are processed in the order that they are received.

Do you need an ARDS license to drive an open wheeled single seater on a track day, or just a normal road license? Thanks

  2. March 14, 2008 12:17 pm, link

    James,
The simple answer is that you do not need an MSA Race licence for open wheel cars at our trackdays . However, elsewhere you may be required to produce an MSA licence; you will definitely need one if it’s a Test Day.
LMC is now unusual in that we accept Single Seaters on our track days, very few other organisers accept single seaters.

Note that you will always need to show a current DVLA driving licence at signing on.
You will also need a MSA approved helmet. (A motorcycle helmet is not suitable), see our Track day notes & booking form for recommended standards. If you live in the North West, might I suggest a visit to one of our social gatherings at the Unicorn Inn, Cronton where we will be only to happy to help. They are always held on the second Monday of the month; we are a friendly bunch and you will be made very welcome. You find a map and directions on our Calendar page.

    May 31st 2008 - What a fantastic day!

    Thanks everyone:
Thanks marshals for setting up everything for the event, standing out there all day in the baking sun, then packing everything away afterwards - a truly great job!

Thanks drivers for staying on the black bit… (well, most of the time!), and for approaching the day in the right frame of mind. With the exception of just a couple of drivers who needed to be spoken to, there was lots of good sensible driving out there, often very quick, often right on the limit, but nonetheless a fair amount of respect shown to other drivers & good use of mirrors - well done!

Thanks to our 2 ARDS instructors John & Jim who were kept busy and made life so much easier and more rewarding for so many of our drivers

Thanks Sue at signing everyone-on, patiently & efficiently

Last but not least, many thanks to my great team at the sharp end Pete, Phil, Geoff A & Geoff M, & Simon on the PA.

You should all be proud of yourselves, you all contributed to a great day’s motorsport.

Now, drivers, if you enjoyed yourselves today, let us know by adding your comments here and then please tell your friends. If you think we could have done something better - tell us; we never stop learning!!

Bookings for the October Track Day will open around 31st August. We expect it will be fully booked quite quickly, so make a note to keep checking this site for bookings to open. Got an MSA licence? How about entering our Sprints on 28 June, or 6 Sept? Or our Loton Park Hillclimbs 28/29 July? Same organising team, same weather - we hope! Or bring your car to the North west Motor Show in Southport 21/22 June. See the home page for details.

And many thanks to you John and all your team, for providing such an efficiently and courteously well-organised day. It was my first visit to Aintree but it won’t be my last - what a great track!
