(The following is the original notice of the event - With luck, we shall be back at the Show in 2009, with better weather? There’s more comment on the LMC Forum, follow the link in the navigation pane on the right)

The sixth annual North West Motor Show will be held in Southport on 21st & 22nd June 2008 and will be even bigger and better than ever.

And for sixth successive year Liverpool Motor Club will be an essential part of this increasingly important event with a great selection of competition, classic and road cars as part of our display, which will be the biggest club display in the show..dscf0007.jpg
For 2008, the Club’s prominent marquee will incorporate a fascinating display of information about LMC and visitors will once again be able to see photographs of the Club’s past activities including Sand Racing/Sandocross together with information about the Club’s current involvement in motorsport.
In addition we will once again have a fabulous range of cars on display, including racing cars, saloon cars and classics too. We shall be helping the show’s organisers run the live demonstration arena within the showground, where the public will be able to see in action some of the cars from our display and from other stands within the show.
dscf0008.jpgWe’re looking out for member’s cars for both the static and active displays. If you would be interested in supporting us, either with vehicles for the stand or by spending time with us during the show, or even by assisting us set up/dismantle our display, we would be most interested to hear from you.
Please contact president@liverpoolmotorclub.com for more information. A couple of hours, a whole day, or even all weekend, any time that you can spare to help us promote your Club will be most welcome. You’ll even get in free - as long as you let us know in advance that you are coming to help!
For further details of the Show itself, why not have a look at Sefton Tourism’s website.

Did you know that Liverpool Motor Club is one of the few Motor Clubs to have promoted Sand Racing in the United Kingdom? We have significant historic links with the Southport area, having run Sand Racing and Sandocross on Southport Beaches as recently as the early 1970’s.This unique form of Motor Sport drew large crowds on the Ainsdale Beach, though they occasionally found that an escape to the sand hills was required to avoid wet feet when the tide came in!

Yes please too, Nigel. We’d love to see the +8 there. Give Geoff Ashworth a ring to book your place (on track too if you wish).

I’m pleased to report that we have some great cars offered for display but could still do with more!
In addition to the great cars, we could do with some “ordinary” ones too, especially if they are over 25 years old.
You’d be surprised just how much interest is generated by normal road cars from a few years ago.
    What have you got?

    Hi,

can attend both days to help, and can also bring a car - Audi UR Quattro Coupe - if required. It’s very smart but not 100% concours, particularly after some chips from the track day!

Pls advise if I can help,
    Mike de St Paer
