This is Ians family here. Thankyou so much for this lovely tribute to our cousin Ian. He was older than us and our childhood memories of him are on the whole all about his love of motor racing; it was a passion that stayed with him throughout his life. We wish to thank his motor racing family for being such good friends to Ian and we take huge comfort that he was so warmly and widely regarded by you. We will share funeral details once confirmed; you are most welcome to attend. With best regards, all of Ians family

Good Morning

I have just opened the Liverpool Motor Club website and am sad to hear that Ian has passed away on the 26th of February and wish to add my sincere condolences on the families sad loss.

I have been a regular Formula Ford competitor for the past 30 years and have known Ian all his scrutineering career.

He will be sadly missed by so many, he was always fair, approachable and an asset to our sport and it was always a pleasure to meet up with him at the various events in which I competed.

Ian’s has left a great hole to be filled.
He was always a welcome site at all the many rallies myself and my driver Darren Atkinson were entered on.He was always smiling and pleased to see us and very helpful.
Motorsport will be so much more emptier for his passing and I know from our perspective he will be so sadly missed.RIP Ian
